Catherine Hand
Her early years were spent bouncing around from Texas to Washington DC to Los Angeles when her father, Lloyd Hand, served as assistant to then Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson and, later, served as President Johnson’s White House Chief of Protocol. She got her start in the entertainment business working for the legendary writer/producer Norman Lear and it was while working for Lear that she approached Madeleine L’Engle about the film rights to her beloved novel, A Wrinkle in Time. Catherine had loved the book since childhood and longed to see it as a major motion picture. It would take her a total of fifty years from the time she first read the book until she met the amazing team that would finally bring her dream to fruition. Becoming a Warrior is her story of persistence, hope and love.
