Brooks Almy

She has always been an avid reader. As a child, her favorite place to be was under the covers reading by flashlight, where her fierce imagination was stirred by great tales from far away and long ago.  This led to a varied career, from acting on Broadway and in TV and film to directing and teaching. 

For Brooks, writing provides an opportunity to explore the power of words and story in a different genre. She writes at home in beautiful Italy, with a big black dog, a little black cat, and her wonderful husband Maurizio, who inspires her every day. This is her debut novel.
